Louise Kitsberg, née Hay (Pharmacy-1958) 1935-2012 – a tribuite from her brother Eli Hay (Mechanical Engineering 1959)

Louise Kitsberg née Hay sadly succumbed to pancreatic cancer on August 19th, 2012.
Born in Baghdad in 1935 and married to the late Barrie Kitsberg (Economics-1958), she obtained her pharmacy degree with honours and practised for fifty years. She was also sister to myself Eli Hay (Engineering-1967;1959) and the late Nessim Hay (Engineering-1955;1951).

Louise worked with May & Baker and Roussel Manufacturing in London and then spent 36 years with Edgware General Hospital where she became The Community Services Pharmacist. On her retirement at 65 she was coaxed to set up the permanent Bank Pharmacist for the Trust for eight further years.
All patients in all the hospitals were considered close friends to her. All doctors were her 'trainees' and she counselled them often. All nurses looked up to her for her dedication. Her Son Anthony's House Jobs, at Edgware General, were hyphenated with the Senior Pharmacist who was his Mother!

She was a practising member of The Pharmaceutical Society for 49.5 years, just few months short of the golden figure.
She had three sons-Daniel (Natural Sciences, Cambridge and PhD, Jerusalem) Jonathan (Economics, Manchester) and Anthony (MB ChB, London) and was very proud of her thirteen Grandchildren.

Her legacy will be hard to follow.
