A University of Nottingham graduate and a ‘children’s advocate’ has been appointed to the top Church of England job in Nottinghamshire.

The Right Reverend Paul Butler, who graduated with a combined English and History degree in 1977, will take up his post as Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham after Christmas.

University of Nottingham alumna Dame Mary Marsh presents the value of volunteering. Dame Mary was speaking at the Supporters, Alumni and Friends Day event at the University's Jubilee Campus recently. Dame Mary is Director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme and a former Chief Executive of the NSPCC.

The University of Nottingham has produced a new film celebrating its world class teaching and learning, cutting edge research and vibrant student life on its two award winning overseas campuses.

Described by The Times as ‘the nearest Britain has to a truly global university’ there are now over 7,000 students from 70 countries across the world studying at Nottingham’s campuses in China and Malaysia.

These campuses offer unique opportunities for students to study abroad through the University’s Inter-Campus exchange programmes as well as opportunities for international students to study in Malaysia and China through its Study Abroad Programme.

Meet alumnus Mark Bullock, Wheelchair Tennis Manager for the International Tennis Federation. He is back in Nottingham for the championships being held at the City of Nottingham Tennis Centre.
