I’d like to wish a happy Spring Festival to our Chinese communities in Nottingham, Ningbo and the rest of the world as they prepare to welcome in the Year of the Dragon. In the UK the University is at the centre of a host of fantastic events celebrating the Chinese New Year culminating in outdoor celebrations and a fireworks finale on Sunday 29th January in Highfields Park.
There’s just a few days left to see the record-breaking Lowry Exhibition at the Djanogly Gallery at Lakeside. More than 25,000 visitors and two sell-out exclusive alumni ‘talk and tours’ have viewed the exhibition, which comes to a close on Sunday 5th February.
We’re looking forward to welcoming alumni to the Talent Roadshow in Nottingham, which takes place on Tuesday 7th Feb and you have just 48 hours to buy a discounted alumni ticket for the Annual Lord Dearing Higher Education Conference on 23rd February. The Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science, will give the plenary address.
It can be hard keeping up with everything going on at the University but we’ve now brought all our social media activity together. By clicking on the Connect with Nottingham tab on the University homepage you can view modern and archive photos on flickr and read a fascinating range of blogs from current students, staff and researchers. You can even catch up with the personal thoughts and reflections of the Vice-Chancellor who writes his own blog. It’s a great way to keep in touch.
