June e-newsletter

Dear Alumni & Friends!

As another academic year draws to a close and we look forward to the summer graduation ceremonies we are delighted to welcome a further 7,000 alumni as members of the Nottingham alumni family.  There are now more than 175,000 Nottingham alumni sharing their knowledge and expertise around the world and making a difference to the world we all live in.  Congratulations to all of our new graduates and also to the handful of alumni receiving honorary degrees from the University this July.

Since our last e-newsletter we have been very busy catching up with alumni at a number of events around the globe.  It has been wonderful to meet with so many of you on our travels through Hong Kong, New York, Boston, The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Tower Bridge in London and back in Nottingham at the Wheels of Fortune Talk and Tour at the end of May.  We were delighted that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Colin Campbell, could join us at most of these events and look forward to planning our next visits with you all and hopefully introducing you to the next Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Greenaway.

The next big event on the calendar is the Alumni Laureate Awards Dinner on September 11 2008 in the Senate Chamber.  To get a ticket costing £40 per person or a table of 10 for £350, please contact events@nottingham.ac.uk. Thank you for all your nominations for the Alumni Awards.  The panel have made their decisions and we will be announcing the winners next month.

Please keep using the new Nottingham Online service http://www.alumni.nottingham.ac.uk/ to keep up to date with all the latest news and features, register online for events, find an old friend or volunteer your time or expertise to help the University.

Keep using the Noticeboard.  It’s your space to post a message, celebrate a success, appeal to former friends or colleagues or simply announce something about yourself. E-mail your messages to alumni-enquiries@nottingham.ac.uk.

If you enjoy the e-newsletters why not encourage your friends and fellow Nottingham alumni to register on the website and request this monthly e-newsletter.
