Who do you think deserves a Nottingham alumni award? As a former Nottingham student you are part of a special global family of alumni whose roots lay in more than 130 years of history dating back to the original days of University College.
The University of Nottingham’s alumni community now numbers more than 200,000 - among them scientists, Olympians, politicians, charity workers, novelists, actors, civic leaders and entrepreneurs. Nottingham alumni from all walks of life in a myriad of professions, are making a difference in the world today.
Each year the Nottingham Alumni Laureate Awards ceremony recognises a selection of our alumni who achieved excellence in their chosen field of work.

Previous winners have either made outstanding contributions to their local communities, have stimulated new ideas or services, or they have shown exceptional dedication, creativity and leadership.

We would like to hear of any alumni who you think deserve an award. The closing date for this year’s nominations is 24th January 2011.
This year’s ceremony takes place on 7th May as part of our new MayFest 2011 celebrations as we welcome alumni and friends and their families back on campus for a variety of events.
The awards are open to anyone who meets the nomination criteria both for themselves and the person they nominate. Simply fill out a nomination form and send it to the attached address. A word version of the nomination form is also available to complete. We really want to hear from you. |

And don’t forget that the nominator and seconder of award winners selected by the panel will be invited to attend the event free of charge.
The selection panel to decide the awards is made up of the Vice-Chancellor, two current Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Vice-Deans, at least one representative of the alumni community and the President of the Students’ Union.
There are various categories including Recent Alumnus/na of the Year, Special Excellence Awards in various fields and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
