Spring Festival celebrates the 10th anniversary of The University of Nottingham Ningbo

Nottingham nurse and midwife flies to Bangladesh in latest humanitarian mission

Anna Kent, a Nottingham nurse, midwife and alumna, has flown to Bangladesh for her latest mission in delivering healthcare to some of the world’s most deprived people.

Tucked away in a cupboard aboard her narrowboat home near Nottingham is one of Anna’s most treasured possessions. It’s a little worn now and one or two of its red and white beads are missing but the teek - a bellychain worn as a keepsake in South Sudan – has a special place among Anna’s mementoes of delivering healthcare in some of the world’s most challenging places......more 

Nottingham graduate Ruth Wilson wins Golden Globe award

Nottingham alumna Ruth Wilson (History 2003) has won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her work in murder mystery The Affair.

The University of Nottingham is one of the top choices for graduate recruitment among UK employers, a new report has shown.

The latest report by High Fliers Research showed that Nottingham came 2nd in their list of universities targeted by the largest number of top employers in 2014-2015......more

Honours for University of Nottingham staff and alumni

Professor Martyn Poliakoff, a renowned professor at The University of Nottingham, has been knighted in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2015. 

Professor Poliakoff received the honour for services to Chemical Sciences in recognition of his contribution as a global leader in green and sustainable chemistry. The honour is also in recognition for him acting as an ambassador for UK Science in his role as Vice-President and Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society, which is an illustration of the esteem in which he is held by his fellow academics......more

Highfields Park set for major restoration
