Rosetta and Nottingham’s role in the history of space exploration

A spacecraft made history as it went into orbit around a comet. Rosetta was the first spacecraft to meet a comet and accompany its orbit around the sun, before landing a probe on the comet’s surface.

Vice-Chancellor’s Life Cycle team smash £500k barrier as they embark on 1,400 mile challenge

A team of volunteers from The University of Nottingham is setting off on a grueling 1,400-mile charity bike ride, taking in the four corners of Great Britain.

Potholes, punctures, wild dogs and heatstroke, University of Nottingham staff member Gavin Scott is risking all this and more as part of his summer holidays this year - in the name of Children’s Brain Tumour Research.

 Environment Manager, Gavin is racing from London to Istanbul on a push bike as part of the Transcontinental race.  The race, which left from Westminster Bridge on Saturday 9th August, is a one-stage race with no support or back-up, and no specified route - although there are three mandatory checkpoints riders have to pass through.......more
