Alumni e-newsletter

March 2012

We had a superb response to our call out for ‘likes’ on our alumni Facebook page last month so thanks to everyone who’s getting involved. For those who haven’t yet liked the page, we’re posting daily news, event info, research, videos and photographs and our most recent thread focused on the price of a pint of beer in the SU bar! Our immediate target is to have 2,000 likes so look in and keep in touch here

We’re hoping to see lots of you tomorrow night at our Talent Roadshow at The Royal College of Surgeons in London. The taster lectures focus on offshore wind turbines and our research in developing a new device to aid resuscitation in newborn babies. We hope you can make it. And on Saturday 24th March Nottingham alumni from all over the UK will swell the numbers of the University Philharmonia and University Choir at a special Mahler concert at the Albert Hall in Nottingham – the first public concert involving current students and alumni performing together. Why not book a ticket now.

Keep the nominations coming for the 2012 Alumni Laureate Awards – we’ve already had some amazing nominations highlighting outstanding alumni but you only have until 31st March to suggest alumni you think deserve recognition.

Don’t forget we want to hear from any alumni involved in the London 2012 Olympics. Let us know if you’re playing a part in the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ by contacting

Chris Smart
Acting Head of Alumni Relations
