Cascade ... alumni making a tangible difference



Thanks to the support of alumni and friends of The University of Nottingham, the Cascade Fund is able to enrich lives all over the world.  Through the Cascade Programme Nottingham's alumni and friends have now supported over 145 projects with gifts totalling over £1,240,000. Below are just some of the projects which have been funded in the past through the Cascade Programme. Green go button Donations from Cascade have helped students engage with schools and the local community, helping to fund new equipment such as the Inflativerse, an inflatable planetarium. Green go button 25 students had the opportunity to deliver free mobile medical clinics in
Honduras, giving them hands-on experience of professional care in a challenging environment.
Green go button Future for Jaffna, a charity run by 25 students at The University of Nottingham has already helped nearly 100 widows of the recent civil war in Jaffna, Sri Lanka to set up their own businesses 
supported by a £9000 grant from the University’s Cascade fund.
Green go button Thanks to new studio equipment purchased for the student radio station URN, hundreds of students will be able to develop new technical skills. Green go button  With support from Cascade the Ghana Volunteers programme 
provided students with the opportunity to volunteer on a wide range of placements over a period of 10 weeks in the community of Tamale in Ghana.
Green go button Enhancing the University’s ‘Sport for all’ philosophy, funding for Any-Body Month and Any-Body Club is benefitting over 300 participants annually.
